Dahlia Porter, President/Director of Midwifery Education/Curriculum Developer/Advisor/Administrative Supervisor

Dahlia was born in Jamaica where she had her son at Labor of Love birth center in Jamaica in 2000. She entered the midwifery program in Jamaica and moved to the United States in 2004 to complete her education. She is passionate about educating mothers about labor and birth and about educating midwives for the future. When the owner of the International School of Midwifery decided to retire, she assumed ownership of the school and has been directing the school since 2011.




Carol Williams, LM

Carol has been a licensed midwife since 2004. She is currently the owner of Miami Maternity Center and the senior midwife on staff. She teaches Labor and Delivery I and II, Suturing and Birth Review. Carol has 5 children, 4 of whom were born at home with a midwife. She has delivered 15 of her 26 grandchildren and more than 1000 of her adopted grandchildren. Labor and deliver is her passion and encouraging moms to the point of delivery is her goal. She desires for moms to birth their children, not be delivered.




Tania Mondesir, RN, LM, BSN, BS

Tania has been a Registered Nurse for 19 years. After having twins via a c-section, she had her next child vaginally with midwives. After having hospital care and midwifery care, she became interested in becoming a midwife. She went to ISOM and graduated in 2011. She has since become a licensed midwife and works at the Miami Maternity Center. She teaches core midwifery competencies.




DellaReece Bastian, LM, A.A

DellaReece had her fourth child with a midwife and was so empowered and cared for during her labor and birth that she wanted to give that to others. She entered ISOM and became a licensed midwife in 2011 and is now able to give the care she received to others. At ISOM she teaches the core Midwifery competencies.




Ada Sprouse, LM, A.S, A.A

Ada is the mother of 4 children, which includes a set of triplets. She was a certified nursing assistant and has an A.A. in elementary education and A.S. in early childhood development. She became interested in midwifery and has been a licensed midwife since July of 2007 utilizing her knowledge and experience to provide excellent health care services in the field. She now adds her skills and knowledge to teaching the core midwifery competencies.




Angela Hardison, B.A, M.A

Angela is originally from Louisville, Kentucky and Brooklyn, New York. She has taught in the public school system for almost 20 years. She has a B.A. in Biology and an M.A. in science and math. Angela has found in herself a desire to care for women in pregnancy and childbirth and brings her science background to ISOM in teaching the core midwifery competencies.




Judy Kaplan, CNM, ARNP

Judy is a Certified Nurse-Midwife. She has been a midwife for 22 years and has managed over 1800 births in homes, hospitals and birth centers. She has birthed her ten children naturally and is driven to teach and encourage all women to have the healthiest and most rewarding birth possible. She serves on the advisory board and supervises students in the clinical setting. She is a world of knowledge to ISOM students.
